Leading Afrobeat artist Davido celebrated his 31st birthday by sharing personal pictures of his wife and their newborn twins.

 

The celebrated singer-songwriter shared sweet pictures of his wife, Chioma Rowland, and their twin newborns, Taiwo and Kehinde David, on social media. He used emojis to hide the babies’ faces.

With a brief but sincere comment that went with the pictures, Davido thanked God, saying, “Big 31. Thank you, God.

Davido made the terrible choice to reveal his kids to the world one year after his son Ifeanyi drowned at his Lekki, Nigeria, house.

In a recent interview, Davido spoke about how the death of his 3-year-old son Ifeanyichukwu Adeleke affected him when he found out he was carrying twins.

According to him, “When me and my wife found out, we were shaking and it was in the same month, happened in October and my wife gave birth in October, it’s crazy.”

The well-known musician expressed gratitude to his support network for being there for him as he dealt with the tragic death of his son.

“You would never want to believe in God in your life; such things happen to a lot of individuals. But with a fantastic team behind me, I’m still able to have faith and accomplish what I love. And we’re getting close to the finish line now,” he said.

The ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker also said that the death of Ifeanyi had caused him to experience a severe emotional crisis. He said that he had considered giving up on his religion and wondered whether he would ever be able to sing again.

I was on the verge of quitting. I believed I would never be able to sing again. Davido said, “I felt like I came back in double, even though I had my most successful year, released my greatest album, and my wife gave birth to twins, a gorgeous boy and a girl.
